Introduction
Non
Destructive Testing in the UK Military is nearly 50 years old. The first
course ran in January 1959 at RAF Swanton Morley, Norfolk, and
course number 164 will be running in its 50th year at MOD St
Athan (if we survive that long!). NDT
in the UK Military has seen many changes over those years. The move from
RAF Swanton Morley to RAF St Athan came in 1995. Since then it has changed
from the RAF School
to the Tri Service School, moved out of the RAF into the MOD and endured
innumerable organisational name changes and will move back into the RAF
again in 2008. Over
the last half century 1049 NDT Technicians have passed through the School,
and on into the aerospace NDT community. People from 24 UK and Foreign
Military Services, 23 MOD/civilian organisations, and representing 4
continents. To
celebrate this momentous occasion a ‘50th Anniversary
Reunion’ is to be held for all those people who completed the NDT
Technicians Course in the RAF School of Non Destructive Testing, and more
recently the Tri Service School of NDT. The 40th Reunion was held in Leicester in 1999 (see link from course listing page) and we hope to make the 50th Reunion an even more successful affair. With the far reaching influence of WWW, this website has been created to provide an easily accessible way for people to find out about the event and contact the organisers. To
register an interest, please contact us at the addresses below. To allow
you to see who is or isn’t attending the function the names under the
course photograph will change in colour as we receive information from
people. Chief Tech

regular intervals to provide news on the progress of the event. As we
approach the date accommodation information will appear there also, with

24 Mar 08 - Not a great deal to report in this update. We have some prices from the conference venue and are crunching the numbers to determine what sponsorship we will require, and ultimately the cost of the accommodation too. They are offering some attractive deals for 'reunion events' and we just need to factor out the cost of the gala dinner which we hope will be covered by sponsorship. We'll let you know as soon as we know!
5 May 08 - Welcome to the members of Cse No. 159 . You're now famous! Impending changes in NDT has resulted in the cancellation of Cse No. 160.
We are looking for event sponsors to help in any way. So if you're in a position to provide some sponsorship or assistance (or influence someone who can!) then we'd love to hear from you. First we'll put your name on the sponsors page and a link to your website, then we can discuss additional requests. I'm also looking for places to advertise this website, so again if you are able to place a link button on yours or a company website, then please contact us. Thanks for those who have already made enquiries, we'll reply to you as soon as we can provide some useful info.
